Meet Our President
Tamar Warburg, AIA, LEED AP is a graduate of the Harvard School of Design. She founded Planet A to design and develop values-driven architecture that embodies environmental, social and economic sustainability. Tamar’s work addresses key questions of how we live today:
- How can we design housing and public buildings in accordance with our environmental and social values?
- How can we design homes and schools that produce all of their own energy?
- How can we develop our buildings, neighborhoods and cities to be more independent and resilient?
In Tamar’s previous work as a Principal of Studio G Architects, she designed educational and public projects throughout Massachusetts, including: Excel Academy High School in East Boston, the 270 Centre Street residential and mixed-use project in Jamaica Plain, and Atlantis Charter School in Fall River.
Prior to returning to her native Boston in 2003, Tamar lived in Israel for 10 years, where she was the founding principal of the Green Architecture Studio. In that capacity, she built a range of public and residential projects, including a public library for Kibbutz Ketura in the Arava Desert, and energy-efficient, water-conserving homes. She also designed a school for the arts in the Arab community of Arara.
Tamar lectures in Boston and at Tel Aviv University on sustainable and energy-positive design.
